Lyrics

Bring on Baseball

As a kid I had a brother,
Through the heat and haze of summer we would fight
I would play the law, and he would play the bad guy,
Every minute fighting for our lives,
Till the cool days of October,
Brought the playoffs and the Series into mind,
First ones out the door, First ones to the playground,
Baseball was a way to make things right.
Our skies never seemed so wide,
Till we came of age,
And demons took the stage,
And burned everything down,
No time isn’t on your side,
When you’re stuck inside

So light up the sky, Put the ball in the air,
We’ll choose up sides, May the weather be fair,
May we remember our past, And how we once were friends,
Bring on baseball, For a moment this war could end,
Bring on baseball, I wish that our long war would end.

I am fearing for my country,
Cuz I see the fascist symbol on the rise
I am of one land, I am of one people,
Why have we become a Great Divide?
I started praying for my country,
When the simple truth became a simple lie.
Makes you stay inside, Just to dodge the landmines,
Soon you’re wearing weapons at your side,
Our skies, never seemed so wide,
If you’re running scared,
There’s something that we share,
Come down feet on the ground,
No time isn’t on our side,
When we’re stuck inside

So light up the sky, Put the ball in the air,
It ain’t how we’re different, It’s about what we share,
May we remember our past, And how we once were friends,
Bring on baseball, For a moment this war could end,
Bring on baseball, I wish that our long war would end.
